Read for Relief

Who We’re Supporting

More than 700 Red Cross volunteers have worked to operate 55 shelters for victims who aren’t able to return to their homes, and served more than 100,000 meals to Irene victims. The organization is also supplying water, blankets, cleaning kits and other necessary items to those who were stranded by floodwaters in Irene’s wake.

Communities from North Carolina to Vermont rely on the Red Cross for help during their recovery. Since this disaster has effected so many states, we are organizing donations through the American Red Cross’s general disaster relief fund.
