The Next Big Thing (my turn!)

Okay! I’ve been tagged by the ever luscious Havan Fellows to answer 10 questions about my current WIP, then tag 4 victims, I mean friends, to answer these questions on November 7th.

Here goes nothin’!

What is the working title of your book?

Heavens, this one was hard to come up with! I went through several different versions before I came up with PAUL’S MISTAKE. Still not sure I’ll stick with it, though.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I have a story in the Ad-Dick-tion Anthology, vol. 2  called ERAN’S RELEASE. It’s a story of a young man who’d been physically abused by both his father and brother-in-law and how he finally is able to lower his defenses and let Paul love him. PAUL’S MISTAKE continues this story. Eran’s brother-in-law is out of jail and all Eran’s old fears and insecurities come back in full force. Will Paul’s love be enough to keep them together, or as Eran puts it, is he the biggest mistake of Paul’s life?

What genre does your book fall under?

This book, like most of my romances, is an m/m erotic contemporary.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?

Paul would be played by Shia Labeouf and Eran by Matt Lanter.

What is a one sentence synopsis of your book?

Paul has no doubt of his love for Eran, but will Eran’s insecurities succeed in tearing them apart?

Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?

Fingers crossed! I’m submitting PAUL’S MISTAKE to Breathless Press for the Ad-Dick-tion Anthology for next year. Let’s hope they want it!

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Without distractions, I can write a manuscript (12-15k) in about three days. But what with deadlines and a full time job and life getting in the way, it took nearly a week to get it all down.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre.

Relationships are tough, period! Full of misunderstandings and miscommunication and hurt feelings. So really, any m/m romance that deals with the problems of a modern couple could compare with mine.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

PAUL’S MISTAKE continues the story of the relationship between Paul and his lover. What inspired me to write a story of a physically abused boy and how this affects his adult relationships came from my own friendships and relationships with people in the same situation. It’s not easy to overcome the hardships of our past, but I wanted to show that it is possible.

What else about your book might interest the reader?

You mean besides the very hot sex scenes? *smile* Not only are Paul and Eran lovers, they’re also good friends. Paul gives Eran space when he needs it, but Eran is never in doubt of Paul’s devotion.

So here’s my friends for next week!

Tempeste O’Riley  Elin Gregory  Marie Dees and Leona Bushman

Be sure to check them out next week! Awesome writers, the lot of ’em!!
