Come share a drink with Shelton and Nevil in this New Year’s Eve flash:

Nevil sat back in his chair, eyes narrowed as the pretty blond at the bar stepped closer to Shelton. He bit his lip on a grin when Shelton moved away, putting the bar stool between them.

Not that Nevil blamed the man for trying with his lover. Shelton looked edible in the new Tera Shaw evening suit she’d leant him for the bank’s New Year’s Eve party. The chocolate brown linen set off his broad shoulders and the chestnut curls brushing his chin. Nevil couldn’t help a surge of triumph, knowing Shelton would be going home with him that night.

The large clock on stage with the band struck and a thrill of excitement ran the room. Fifteen minutes until the New Year. Shelton’s gaze met his and a lovely blush colored his cheeks. He took the drinks the bartender handed him and walked straight to Nevil, seeming to ignore the eyes that followed him.

“Sorry.” Shelton handed him one of the glasses. “Pat wanted investment advice.”

“That’s not all he wanted,” Nevil teased and enjoyed watching Shelton’s face redden again. Adorable. “Never mind,” he continued and put his drink down to take Shelton’s hand. “Come dance with me.”

Once on the crowded floor, Nevil pulled Shelton tight against him. His lover’s arms went around his neck.

“Um…Nevil?” Shelton murmured in his ear. “This is a fast song.”

“Not when you’re in my arms,” Nevil told him. The countdown started around them, and at the stroke of the New Year, Nevil kissed the love of his life, forgetting everyone else in the room.
