Happy St. Pattie’s Day!
“That will cost ye.”
Teri’s gaze shot up and he gaped at the figure sitting not two paces from him. A man, but something more, a beautiful, terrible presence.
“Who are you?” he managed to gasp, fear clutching his throat. His heart slammed against his ribs. The guy was breathtaking, but he hadn’t been sitting there seconds ago.
“Answer me question first. Ye are…”
He wanted to answer, but the wicked mischief dancing in the brilliant green eyes distracted him and he forgot how to form words.
Heat flushed through him, equal parts embarrassment and attraction as the full lips lifted in a sensual smile. “Ye been following yon rainbow all day. Now ye drink from me spring. Will ye be after me pot o’ gold next?”
“Gold?” Teri ran a hand over his face. Had he been bewitched? Was the spring water enchanted? Yes, he had been following the rainbow, but it didn’t—
Dazzling color flashed in the sky behind the creature, the rainbow’s end. Teri scrambled to his feet and the man rose also, standing much too close for his comfort. Heat from its body wrapped around Teri and he felt suddenly, deliciously trapped.
“It’s me lucky day,” the man drawled, and bent to whisper in his ear, his voice a care
ss. “I’ve caught ye and now ye must grant me wish.”
Teri’s mind raced. He tried to recall everything he’d read about leprechauns. “That’s not quite true. You owe me three wishes.”
The warm mouth kissed along his jaw and feathered against his lips. “But ye didn’t catch me. Yield to me, dear. I’ll see ye enjoy our coupling as I shall.”
Teri fought the quick lust flashing through him, but then realized he didn’t want to. He opened his mouth to the creature’s honeyed kisses and went willingly when he was lowered to the soft grass on the hillside.

Hmm, I’m not very well up on Irish dishes, but I love white pudding which I think is Irish as well as Scottish – does that count? 🙂
One beautifully Irish tradition my family has always carried and my husband now insists we keep as well — which is a testament to his love of my Irish roots, I think! Corned beef and cabbage. Can’t wait to have some on Monday!

Corned beef with a brown sugar mustard glaze, braised cabbage, roasted potatoes and vegetables, pumpernickel bread and a good Irish stout beer. Yum can’t wait – Love St. Paddy’s Day.

Love that little snippet! I’m afraid I’ve not a drop of Irish in me, and have no idea what kind of Irish food I might like. But I’d love to give it a go someday!

Great little Irish short, there! Loved it! As for Irish dishes?….Hmmm….I think Shepherd’s Pie sounds about right.
